Cooking Converters
Convert between cups, tablespoons, teaspoons, milliliters, and fluid ounces.
Cooking measurements are volume-based for liquids and many dry ingredients: cups, tablespoons, teaspoons, and fluid ounces. A US cup is 8 fluid ounces or about 236.6 mL; a tablespoon is 3 teaspoons or about 14.8 mL. These are volume measures, so converting cups directly to grams only works for water — flour, sugar, and butter all have different densities. For baking precision, weighing ingredients in grams is more reliable than measuring by volume.
