Weight Converters
Convert between pounds, kilograms, ounces, grams, and tons.
Weight and mass describe how heavy something is. In everyday use the terms overlap, but in science mass is the amount of matter in an object (measured in kilograms) while weight is the force gravity exerts on that mass. The pound is the common imperial unit and the kilogram is the SI base unit; one pound equals about 0.4536 kilograms. Smaller amounts use ounces and grams (one ounce ≈ 28.35 g), and larger amounts use tons — note that a US short ton (2,000 lb) and a metric tonne (1,000 kg) are different.
